Charlie Culberson will wear #16 for the Atlanta Braves.
Culberson is a 2007 graduate of Calhoun High and was drafted 51st overall by the San Francisco Giants in the 2007 MLB Draft.
Culberson went on to win South Atlantic League in ’08 with Augusta. In 2010 he was named the team MVP with the San Jose Giants and named the Arizona Fall League Allstar. In 2011, Culberson was a AA Eastern League Allstar, and in 2012 he was voted the best second baseman in AAA Pacific League. These accomplishments elevated him to the Big Show and Charlie had his Major League debut on May 13, 2012, Mothers Day.
Culberson has played with the Giants and Colorado Rockies and has been with the Dodgers for the past two seasons.
Before being traded to the Braves, Culberson had an impressive postseason performance for the Dodgers, making an appearance in five of the seven World Series games and had three hits in his five at-bats, including a solo homer in the 11th inning of Game 2. Culberson made the World Series roster after an impressive National League Championship Series against the Chicago Cubs in which he went 5-for-11 with two doubles, a triple, an RBI and two runs scored.
